Key Addition to Investment Team
New York, NY – January 26, 2010 – Hathersage Capital Management LLC, a leading discretionary absolute return currency manager, today announced that Dr. Momtchil Pojarliev, CFA, has joined as Director and Senior Portfolio Manager, a newly created role. Dr. Pojarliev reports to and works alongside Bill Lipschutz, Head of Portfolio Management and Founder.
Dr. Pojarliev, 35, joins Hathersage with a decade of experience managing substantial currency portfolios. He is acknowledged within the international investment community as an expert in currency investment and portfolio management, and has authored more than twenty academic articles, including seminal findings on alpha versus beta producing currency managers.

Dr. Pojarliev was most recently the Head of Currencies at London-based Hermes Investment Management, the investment arm of the BT Pension Scheme and the largest company pension scheme in the United Kingdom. Prior to Hermes, he was Senior FX Portfolio Manager at Pictet & Cie in Geneva, one of Switzerland’s largest private banks. Before Pictet, he was Senior FX Portfolio Manager at Invesco in Frankfurt and London. Dr. Pojarliev received a PhD in Financial Econometrics with honors from the University of Basel and an MSs in Finance from the Vienna University of Economics and Business. He has lectured extensively and is published in many professional journals including the Financial Analysts Journal and the Journal of Alternative Investments. He is a member of the American Finance Association, the CFA Institute and the Swiss Society for Financial Market Research.
